Grandbaby Cakes Hosts Inaugural Charity Bake Sale "A Charitable Confection"
Doing good never tasted so good! Chicagoans with a penchant for gourmet sweets are invited to attend the first ever "A Charitable Confection" charity bake sale on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Chicago Urban Arts Society, 2229 S. This chic bake sale and cocktail party will be hosted by Jocelyn Delk Adams, author and creator of the popular dessert and baking blog "Grandbaby Cakes." Proceeds for “A Charitable Confection” will benefit Project Orange Tree, an awareness organization that focuses on eliminating the systemic causes of ongoing violence. "I'm beyond excited to raise funds for an organization completely run by teens through the Lupe Fiasco Foundation. They are making a difference and improving their community," says Adams.
Funds raised will go specifically towards Project Orange Tree's new program called "Project Oasis". Through this endeavor, Project Orange Tree will purchase land in Chicago’s urban areas to supply food desserts with community gardens and transform deserted lots into peaceful areas for surrounding youth.
A Charitable Confection gives both attendees and Chicago's top industry experts the opportunity to give back to inner city youth by participating in a deliciously entertaining evening. The event will be hosted by Michelle Relerford, NBC 5 Chicago News Reporter and Anchor.
