Do's and Don'ts of Breakfast by @Dancin_Grains
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, your body needs it because you have been fasting for close to 8-10 hrs, and you need energy sources to start the day. At this time of the day is when your blood sugar levels are at their lowest and so, it’s very important to feed it right. The first and most important rule is no orange juice. One cup (8oz, most people drink more than that) will put the equivalent to 10 packets of sugar and 0 fiber in your body instantly! If you can’t live without it, try to replace it with a whole orange and take advantage of the fiber and flavonoids (that are believed to reduce inflammation and process vitamins), even though you’re better off if you leave it for a snack in between meals.
Use Zapp’s Dancing Grains combined with butter, hummus, peanut butter, almond butter, cream cheese, cheese, jam, cured meats, greens and if you need some sweet, try a low sugar (preferably no artificial sweetener added) jam in small quantities. Eggs are always welcome and if too much fat is a concern whites are always a great source of top protein. One of the most important things you will notice is that when you stay in the FAT BURNING ZONE you can actually increase the consumption of healthy fats as body energy, and they will not accumulate.
Coffee, water, tea, herb infusions, lemonade are welcome, try to replace sugar with stevia or at least reduce slowly the amount of sugar you add, again this is not about being miserable but making good carb choices!
